urPetTalk — Translate & Teach
Learn to Speak Their Language.
Helping pets and people understand each other better. Your dog or cat already communicates through sounds, movements, routines, and learned signals. urPetTalk uses AI to recognize patterns in those interactions and established animal behavioral science to help explain what those patterns might mean—and to guide you in building clearer communication together.
urPetTalk is being built now. Translate and Teach are not open yet — this page explains what they will do and how they work.
AI finds patterns. Animal behavioral science guides our understanding.
AI is good at finding repeated and subtle patterns across recordings, context, human cues, animal responses and outcomes. We compare those patterns with trusted, source-backed knowledge about dogs and cats, then use them to offer thoughtful, appropriately uncertain interpretations and practical, reward-based training guidance. We learn from your individual animal over time. We never claim a guess is proven animal speech.
Two modes, one understanding of your animal
Human speech is one way of communicating. Pets communicate through sounds, movements and learned signals of their own. urPetTalk helps you recognize those patterns and teach new ones you and your pet can understand together. It is not a proven word-for-word animal translator.
Translate — explore the signals your pet already uses
Coming soon
Start a voluntary interaction recording, optionally add video, and tell us what happened before, during and afterward. You see possible explanations, the evidence behind them, alternatives and how uncertain they are — for example, whether your dog’s bark at the door or your cat’s meow at the cupboard is more likely about attention, routine or something it has learned. Every Translate interpretation is experimental and for entertainment only.
Entertainment only. Translate interpretations are experimental and for entertainment purposes only. They are pattern-based hypotheses informed by animal behavior research, not proven translations, medical advice or diagnoses. Training advice is educational and does not replace professional help for health, fear, aggression or serious behavior concerns.
Teach — build shared communication that works
Coming soon
Choose a humane, species-appropriate goal — a dog’s sit or the foundations of recall, a cat’s comfortable carrier visits or using a scratching post instead of the sofa. Short reward-based exercises, feedback and progress you can see, adapted to what works for your individual animal. Teach never offers punishment or aversive methods, and it suggests a veterinarian or qualified behavior professional when a concern needs one.
How it learns
Three steps, repeated over time with your own dog or cat.
1. Record and observe
2. Recognize and compare with animal science
3. Reflect, teach, and learn the outcome
urPetTalk keeps track of whether it merely observed a signal or helped teach it. If a suggestion leads you to reward a sound and your pet learns to repeat it, that is real shared communication — but it is recorded as something you taught together, never as proof that the first guess decoded what your pet originally meant.
The science we start from
Our dog and cat reference library is built from cited veterinary guidelines, professional position statements and peer-reviewed research. Every entry links back to its source.
Our dog and cat reference library is cited but has not yet been reviewed by a veterinary behavior professional. Until it is, anything urPetTalk shows from it will carry that label.

Part of your pet’s lifelong record — only with your permission
With your permission, confirmed behavior patterns, preferences and training progress can enrich your animal’s existing urSynergy welfare continuity record, so the people who care for them later — a veterinarian, a sitter, a new caregiver — can understand them better.
- Recordings
- Private by default. They are not shared into the lifelong record.
- Guesses
- An AI interpretation stays a guess. It is never saved as a fact about your pet.
- Research
- Contributing to shared AI research is a separate opt-in you can change later.
- Your data
- We don’t sell your data.

New customers will be able to try Plus free for 10 days. A 10-day trial will need a valid payment card; before you start, we will show the amount you will be charged afterwards, the date, whether it covers one animal or your household, and how to cancel. Ending a trial or a plan never deletes your animal’s record or history. Plus also helps support ongoing research into animal communication.
